Holy cow can wan ar ?

So I moseyed my way to my housemate's room after dinner today. That's what we normally do here in KT. We visit each other in our house. Quite often actually.

Anyway he taught me what was probably the most valuable thing in a blogger's book....

He taught me how to embed a YouTube video~!

Holy of the holiest of Kanasai ~! I didn't know that was possible.

Here I really must apologise for the previous postings where I tackily put links to videos that would appear in a new window and slow down your internet connection.

Now I can actually make you slow down your internet connection without you having to open a new window~! Woohoo~!

So if you're like .... free or something, maybe you can check back my previous postings with all the music youtube links and perhaps listen to those songs for real. *ahem* ....

....that's if you're freelar ... but if not free also, can check mar.....

No? Erhmmm ...... pretty please?

Anyway how's this if you're really bored like me .... To spice up your blog reading experience try these things :

  1. Try click on the play button on 2 or 3 or even more songs at once. You'll get like a hybrid of songs or something ....
  2. Try clicking on ALL the songs at once ..... promises to disconnect your internet connection or bring it to a halt .... or even quite possibly crash your computer. Damages you in more ways than one but what the heck.

Weeee ...... fun for you and for me and for your auntie~!

KL ..... I'm coming back to you real soon this weekend ..... I promise I'll behave

Oh dear Lord ..... it's a Saturday evening in KT. I am so bored .... I am so so bored .....

Malaysian Traffic Police - Unbelievably Fantastic

I was in a rush yesterday. The mechanic had already done up my car nice and good and I had to get to the workshop before 6pm. A friend of mine was nice enough to give me a ride.

So ar, we made our way towards Chendering (for the uninitiated, it's like going from OUG to Taman Desa, or from Cheras to Taman Tasik Permaisuri, or from GH to the end of Tasik Titiwangsa, or from your house to your grandmother's house 2 taman's away .... aiyar you get my drift ar)

...That's like a 10 minute drive away.....

But then when we came out of my office ar ..... si pek kanasai leh .... jam wor!

Of course the first thing that came into our minds was ..... bandaraya redileh .... so must have bandaraya-type traffic.

Maybe everyone wanted to feel like they were driving in a Bandaraya all at once .... so they all came out and started driving around town for no reason..

So we chugged along at a snail's pace. Then horrors~! Far up ahead in the distance ...

We saw traffic policemen who came to screw up the traffic ...

I really must say that WITHOUT the policemen and with the traffic lights working normally, I'd probably have made it to the workshop in say 20 minutes. As it is, WITH the policemen there directing traffic, it took me a good kanasai 45 minutes to make an otherwise 10 minute journey.

This is probably what's going on in the heads of those dudes directing traffic ...

"Hmm ...... this stretch of road looks pretty jammed up. Wait. The other side too. Hey wait, so is the opposite direction.

Let's see .... Okay ... let's clear this road first. Okay you there. Go. Yes go. I'm waving my incredibly powerful arms in the air. Go.... Go on...... Yes keep going .... Just 2 more minutes....... Nah.... not yet ..... okay. Wait. Maybe another 2 more minutes. Never mind the other cars. They'll have to wait. I can override the traffic lights. I am the law.

*snort* ....... must not fall asleep .....

*snort* Oh right. Maybe I should let the other cars have their turn. Nah. Maybe another 2 more minutes.... "

This was me after the traffic lights made 3 whole cycles and the dumbass up there was still letting the same line of cars go. I think if I had stopped the engine, walked over to the petrol station down the road, took a dump, robbed the cashier, torched the whole place and walked back to my car, the dude would've still been letting the same line of cars go.

Kanasai I tell you. This happens for ALL situations where traffic police take control. I'm not even beginning to mention the mayhem they cause in downtown KL during rush hour.

I think in traffic police training school they have classes like :

'Cara menerukkan keadaan trafik semasa berlakunya kesesakan lalulintas'

or

'Cara membangkitkan kemarahan pengguna jalan raya melalui kawalan trafik yang melampau'

Happy New Year 2008

It's the 1st of January 2008. I'm in the office.

Working.

Bummer.

Incidentally .... Kuala Terengganu is officially a 'bandaraya' today.

Not only is there no holiday today for New Year's Day OR Bandaraya Declaration Day, our COLA won't be increased ....

By the way, that's actually KT mall. Only problem is that it's empty ... and it's been that way for the past 5 years or more

Happy New Year everyone~!

Yay

Hot What ?

Being in a place like KT, we're always on the lookout for good food. So whenever new places open or great deals are offered, we're the first to look into them .....

That day some mousy looking boy was handing out this flyer ....

..... looked pretty interesting to us. But then again being in KT has also taught us never to draw conclusions from a simple glance. First of all there's that huge 'Supper' word up there. Okay okay, lest we be called skeptical and anal, we'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

They're serving supper ....... Okay fine ..... no dinner .... just supper. Call them to reserve a place for supper.....

Right.

But then of course we took a closer look .... Here we go ....

Notice where I circled ....

I don't think we'll ever go to this place let alone join their club or whatever ......... They might just discard their members anytime .....

Kanasai ~!

The Accident

I was coming out of my apartment last week. It was a normal night, I was on the way out to meet my housemates for dinner.

Once I turned out onto the road, a motorbike in the opposite direction decided to overtake the car in front of him. It was a rather narrow road so before I knew it, a motorbike was eating into my lane and heading straight towards me at perhaps 60km/h...

....*BAM*

I'm not sure how far or how high the dude flew. All I knew was that once I got out of the car, he was a good 100 metres away from my car. Alive. With only a few scratches.

Can't say the same about my car. The front part was totally smashed. Sigh.

Interesting to point out was that though the fault was far from mine, it took only 2 minutes before people from neighbouring stalls and shops came running out and pointing accusatory fingers at me. Needless to say in which favour the racial balance was tipped but far be it for me to harp on an issue as sensitive as that.... (though I reckon my point has already been made ... loud and clear).

How in the whole wide world was it my fault when I was merrily heading out onto the correct lane when someone came rushing straight into mine ?

How was it my fault when remnants and glass pieces from the accident were all on MY (left) side of the road?

Oh wait .... perhaps they thought that just for that stretch of road, people drive on the RIGHT side of the road, so I was driving on the wrong side of the road and hit that motorcyclist.

Thankfully my 2 housemates joined me soon afterwards and I couldn't describe how much relief their mere presence provided me.

We headed to the police station after that and did what had to be done .... despite the sheer gloom the accident cast upon me that night, I was given a reason to cheer up.

For I was to catch a 10pm bus back to KL that night, and having finished up at the police station, I arrived at the bus station at 10.05pm only to find no buses there at all. I thought that was it. Goodbye KL

But then I discovered something ..... why were there so many people hanging around? Turns out the buses hadn't arrived yet. That night I was plunged both into distress and happiness at the same time ....

It's been a week now and I've just handed my car to the mechanic. I've since realized that in the heat of things, we take the most convenient path in accepting a situation... through denial. Where problems crop up, we immediately swing around and point fingers, seeking solace in the fleeting and misleading comfort that someone else will take the blame. Where solutions seem scarce, we are quick to judge those offered by others yet make little attempt at solutions ourselves.

Deep inside I've made peace with the person whom I collided with that night, though I probably will never see him again. I've learnt to accept that no one was to blame that night, that if an accident has to happen, it will happen. Nevermind those people who were judging us that night. No issue with the amount of bucks we'd both have to fork out to repair our damaged vehicles.

I'm just thankful that the both of us came away with our lives and good health that night. And for that I continue to be thankful ......
